When I redownloaded Itunes I added that folder to Itunes and got the 20k songs back into itunes. Anyway, when my computer was reset my music library was saved and backed up. I have 20k plus songs on my Ipod, with only about 1000 purchased from Itunes. Itunes Showing library different then Ipod Library So my computer crashed and had to be reset. What can I do to fix this, it's so annoying. In iTunes, the only option I have checked on the summary screen is 'manually manage' and on my phone, in iTunes and App Stores, I have all automatic downloads off. I don't want to do this as some of the music is on other devices that I want to keep. If I try to delete any of these items from my phone, it tells me it will be deleted from all my devices. When I listen to music on random, in my car for instance, not only will it try to play some of these songs that are not in iTunes 'on my device' but not even on my phone if I search for them. Again, NONE of this music was purchased from my actual device. To be clear: I NEVER purchase music on my device, always through iTunes on my PC. When I open my phone and go to the Music app, there's tons of artists and songs, all things I have purchased with iTunes, with the cloud icon next to them. When I open iTunes, it shows 'no items' on my device. I had this problem on the 6 and now it has seemed to carry to the 8. I previously had an iPhone 6 running on iOS 11, and when I set up the 8, I restored the phone from the backup of my 6. Music on device that isn't in iTunes I just bought a new iPhone 8 Plus running iOS 12. as I couldn't afford to keep buying everything - I spent hours making sure all of the songs on my laptop on iTunes were uploaded to my iCloud and there were no issues, I've tried plugging my iPod touch into my laptop and syncing that way to see if that does anything, I've reset my iPod as well but nothing is happening, is there something in place now that blocks anything that isn't downloaded or purchased via the Apple music or iTunes store from being played on it? As I have some that work, but more recent ones it comes up saying "item cannot be played/item not available" and it doesn't let me download them - if it no longer allowsthis then that's fine and I can have a clear out and delete some music and try and find them on apple music - I'm not a massive user of Apple products and only have the iPod touch, so apologies if this seems a bit confusing! The problem seems to be relatively wide-spread, but none of the proposed solutions worked for me.I have over 2000 songs on my iTunes, but on my iPod touch it says I only have 1200 songs on there, all of the songs on my iTunes are saved onto my iCloud, but for some reason they aren't all synced onto my iPod touch - i got the iPod touch in December 2017 and set up the Apple music as well so any songs I download from there are fine - but there are songs that I have had on my iTunes for a lot longer that aren't appearing or not downloaded, I used to have an old iPod nano before this so a lot of the music isn't purchased through iTunes, but are downloaded, like YouTube converting etc. I have also created a new playlist, and moved the files of the troublesome playlist into the new one, to no avail. when I look at the cloud status, all songs in my library seem to show a good status (either "Apple Music", or "Uploaded", or "Matched"). I suspect it is one (or more) of the files in those playlists that prevent it from sync'ing.īut I can't find them. Those are also playlists where I don't get the option to "Publish on my profile and in search" all other playlist show that check box. Unfortunately, those 2 playlists contain the bulk of my songs (around 10,000). Problem is, on the iPhone, I can see most of my playlists, but NOT 2 (out of 46) playlists. Naturally, on the ipHone, i have "Sync Library" switched on in Settings/Music. On both the Mac and the iPhone, I am logged in with the same Apple ID. Playlist on iphone is missing I have a number of playlists on Apple Music on my Mac.
